Hello pro football fans from our “Rockstar” studio this is our NFL Injury Report for the sports betting public as well as Fantasy Football players.
Minnesota Vikings starting quarterback Tavaris Jackson suffered a sprained knee during the Vikings preseason game last Saturday night against the Baltimore Ravens. The second year QB was forced to leave the game after suffering his injury on a quarterback scramble and did not return to action. Fortunately the injury does not appear to be serious. Jackson reportedly took part in individual drills and did some throwing at practice on Monday. Head coach Brad Childress is hoping his young quarterback could be ready to take part in the Vikings third preseason game on Saturday against Pittsburgh. Experts consider the third preseason game, as the most important as coaches prepare with game plans and veterans will play their most minutes of the preseason. Jackson has had a good preseason completing on 68% of his passes for 200 yards and two touchdowns.
New England Patriot quarterback Tom Brady saw no action in the Patriots preseason game last Sunday against Tampa Bay due to a sore foot. Brady has yet to see action this preseason after missing the team’s opener against Baltimore over a week ago. The veteran quarterback told the Boston Globe on Monday that his ankle injury is not the same injury he suffered prior to the Super Bowl against the New York Giants. Brady told reporters that he will receive treatment on his foot this week and was unsure if he will see action on Friday in the Patriots third preseason game against Philadelphia.
Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Chad Johnson was forced to leave the Bengal’s preseason game against Detroit last Saturday with a left shoulder strain. Head coach Marvin Lewis was optimistic with reporters on Monday about Ocho Cinco’s availability for the season opener. He also said that the injury could be one that bothers his star receiver for some time and one that could be aggravated with a big hit or a hard tackle to the ground.

Hello NBA fans from our Rockstar studio this is our NBA Quick Hitter for the sports betting public.
With Preseason now underway lets take a look at some of the talented rookies entering The ociation.
Portland fans the wait is over
Portland Trailblazer center Greg Oden made his preseason debut this past Tuesday. The Blazer rookie scored 14 points and had 5 boards in just under 20 minutes of action. Oden missed the entire 07-08 season after undergoing knee surgery in September of 2007. The Buffalo, New York native played 1 year of college ball at Ohio St and led the Buckeyes to the 2007 NCAA Championship game. The center was the first pick of the 2007 NBA draft. NBA scouts marvel at Odens potential and see him as a dominating figure on defense in the league. Oden will be officially classified as a rookie this season and will be eligible to compete for rookie of the year honors. Odon is currently among the favorites to win the award for the most outstanding first year player this season and his odds currently sit at plus 300.
Bulls Fans have reason to shout
Why? Because they got the #1 overall pick in the draft this year thats why
Point guard Derrick Rose is about to make his preseason debut for the Chicago Bulls on Thursday. The Chicago Illinois native was the first overall choice in the draft and will wear #1 as a Chicago Bull. The six foot four inch point guard has been very impressive in training camp. The Chicago Tribune ran a story quoting insiders saying that Rose was a lock to make the starting lineup to start the season. Scouts like his ability to defend and push the ball up court. They are concerned about his jump shooting abilities and how he will handle the pressures and distractions of playing professionally in his hometown. Rose is plus 350 to win Rookie of the Year honors.
Will we see more biscuits in the basket this year in South Beach?.
Heat Fans can only hope so..
The Miami Heat averaged only 91 points per game and was last in scoring in the league last season. With the second pick in this years draft Miami hopes to improve on their offense. The Heat drafted Michael Beasley out of Kansas St. Beasley was the talk of college ball last year as he averaged over 26 points and 12 rebounds per game last season. Beasley scored 16 points on 6 of 11 shooting in 20 minutes against Detroit in his preseason debut. Scouts like his shooting ability and his NBA body. But some have issues with his maturity following misbehavior during NBA rookie orientation during the summer. Oddsmakers have Beasley listed as the plus 150 favorite to be named Rookie of the year this season.

San Antonio Spurs star shooting guard Manu Ginobili will miss the first month of the season. Ginobili has undergone left ankle surgery. The Argentina native injured his left ankle in round 1 of the NBA playoffs against the Phoenix Suns and played through the injury. Ginobili then aggravated his left ankle during the Olympics while playing for Team Argentina in the Medal Round against Team USA in late August. Manu was the NBAs sixth man of the year last season while averaging over 19 points and 4 ½ ists.
Houston has a problem..
Houston Rocket scoring guard-forward Tracy McGrady spoke to reporters on Monday saying that he is playing through an arthritic shoulder this season. McGrady also said his shoulder will require surgery at seasons end and the injury currently bothers him. The Rockets second leading scorer last season also told the media that his surgery on his knee last May will take another 2 months to fully heal.
Out West there is an unhappy Los Angeles Laker
Head coach Phil Jackson spoke out to reporters hinting that Lakers forward Lamar Odom could be relegated to a sixth man on the bench for his squad this season. Odom reported to training camp on Tuesday and responded to reporters by saying that Phil Jackson must be out of his mind. With Andrew Bynum returning to the starting lineup now fully healthy it means a starter from last seasons LA Lakers post-season run will have to hit the bench. Experts have been critical of Lamar Odoms inability to handle adversity. Odom is often criticized for not playing at a high level on a consistent basis.
